The Preaching of Christ
(part 1)
| 1. What must the minister preach? | |
| The true minister must preach Jesus Christ. | Rom 10:17; 1 Cor 1:22-25 |
| He must preach the sufferings of Christ and the glories that followed. | |
| 2. May he preach anything else? | |
| No. The whole Bible is about Jesus. | John 5:39; Luke 24:27,44; 1 Pet 1:10,11 |
| So the minister who preaches the Bible | |
| must preach only about Jesus. | 1 Cor 2:1,2 |
| 3. How does the minister talk to the people? | |
| The minister talks to the people with love | 1 Cor 4:14; 1 Th 1:4; Jas 2:5 |
| because Christ loves his church and gave himself for her. | Eph 5:2,25 |
| The minister assures us that we belong to Christ | Heb 6:9 |
| and that Christ and all his benefits belong to us. | 1 Cor 6:9-11 |
| 4. Should children come to hear this preaching? | |
| Yes. Jesus even blessed babies when he was on earth | |
| and said they belonged in his kingdom. | Luke 18:15,16 |
| 5. How must children hear the preaching? | |
| Children do not understand everything they hear. | |
| But still they know that God is speaking to them | |
| and they belong to him. | 1 Cor 7:14; 1 Jn 2:12,14 |
| They must believe the things they hear and understand. | Eph 6:1 |
